Following on the heel of the US China trade war – Australia has been taking subtle, albeit pointed, actions with its largest trading partner, China. Australia, via its PM Scott Morrrison has voiced their disapproval at the recent National Security Laws imposed by Beijing upon Hong Kong and further ended their extradition treaty with HK– subsequently, this has apparently ruffled Beijing’s feathers. In a recent move, the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs has upgraded their travel advice – and advising its citizens to be careful about travel to Australia. Whilst this ‘war’ is seemingly in its early stages, no doubt all interested parties will keeping a close watch here.
