The Chief Medical Officer of Britain, Chris Whitty is expected to make an announcement on the state of Coronavirus in in the UK as it is getting critical. On Sunday, the Health Minister, Matt Hancock had warned that the UK is a tipping point with the possibility of further lockdown measures if deemed necessary.
The GBP has been under pressure of late due to all the uncertainties around the Brexit issue. At this moment, it does not seem to be impacted by the virus news as well, as it draws from the optimism of fresh stimulus measures. The Finance Minister of Britain, Rishi Sunak has announced that business support loans will be extended with the worsening of the Coronavirus situation. He is ‘expected to unveil plans to extend its four loan schemes for applications until the end of November, with banks allowed to process loans until the end of the year, the newspaper said’.
