Swissquote, a Switzerland-based online trading platform, has entered into a sponsorship deal with the local Genève-Servette Hockey Club (GSHC). The deal will be in place for the 2020-21 ice hockey season.
Under the agreement between the two, Swissqote has become the “Gold Partner” of the club and will particularly support the goalkeepers as its logo will be displayed on the plates of Gauthier Descloux and Daniel Manzato in all matches of the season.
Commenting on the sponsorship deal, Philippe Rigamonti, executive director of GSHC, said: “The entire Genève-Servette team is delighted with this new partnership and welcomes Swissquote to the Grenat family! With Swissquote, Switzerland’s leading online bank, we have found a reliable partner who shares the same values as us. We both strive for perfection and best performance in our daily operations.”
Brokerage and sports club – its a match!
Along with the US and Canada, ice hockey is also a very popular sport in Switzerland, and its national league stands among the top three domestic services around the world. Swissquote is expecting that this deal will raise its brand awareness and believes that it is an ideal reception platform for its clients.
Swissquote has announced this sponsorship deal when other retail brokerages inked promotional deals with major football clubs across Europe. Finance Magnates earlier reported on easyMarkets deal with Real Madrid CF and also on Libertex sponsoring Tottenham Hotspur.
Other notable brokerage deals with sports clubs include Samtrade FX’s deal with Wolves, FXVC’s deal with Leeds United, EverFX sponsoring Sevilla FC, and also eToro becoming AS Monaco Esports sponsor.
Meanwhile, Swissquote recorded a significant jump in its business this year as it saw a 43.3 percent year-on-year jump in net revenue for the first half of 2020. The brokerage also extended its offering by recently adding a new CFDs on top Asian stock indices to its Advanced Trader and Metatrader platforms.
