U.S. crude oil WTI closed down nearly 3% on Thursday (September 26) and fell $68 per barrel.
Saudi Arabia's pledge to increase production and abandon its unofficial price target of $100 a barrel, as well as news that Libya could add crude to the international market, also weighed on oil prices.
West Texas Intermediate (WTI) for November delivery fell $2.02, or 2.90%, to settle at $67.67 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
