A group of major U.S. investors, including Oracle, Silver Lake, and Andreessen Horowitz, is set to acquire a controlling stake in TikTok’s U.S. operations, reducing Chinese parent company ByteDance’s ownership to under 20%. The deal comes amid heightened security concerns between the U.S. and China over sensitive user data.

As part of the agreement, Oracle will oversee all U.S. user data through a secure data center in Texas, while a new U.S.-only version of TikTok will be developed to meet national security requirements.

This marks a significant step toward resolving regulatory and geopolitical challenges faced by Chinese tech firms operating in the U.S. Beyond technology and data protection, the move highlights the broader economic tensions between Washington and Beijing—an ongoing rivalry that could indirectly influence global market sentiment.
