Stocks remained steady on Monday as investors hesitated to make significant moves before crucial U.S. inflation data, leading to marginal gains in major indices. The Dow Jones Industrial Average edged slightly higher, while the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite saw modest increases of 0.03% and 0.1%, respectively.
Tesla shares surged 5% following CEO Elon Musk's announcement about the upcoming unveiling of the company's robotaxi in early August. However, overall market enthusiasm was tempered by rising Treasury yields, with the benchmark 10-year Treasury yield rising by 5 basis points to 4.43%.
